Judy Mancini, a Culinary Institute of America graduate with a substantial history in the New York restaurant scene, became director of the lunch program at a local charter school that serves a strictly vegetarian menu. In 2006, she won the "golden carrot" award from The Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine for encouraging the students to eat more healthfully. She has also received accolades from PETA.
Martine Marcus grew up in a French home where cooking was serious playtime. She spent years immersed in the food industry in Dallas, Texas and New York City as everything from chefs' apprentice to wild game sales. In her second lifetime she has been devoted to design and marketing - of late combining all her skills to the development of Burden Free Foods.

Burden Free Foods is committed to a gluten free diet while respecting the earth through our sustainability mission. Our lessons are not limited to gluten free. As they are conducted in the comfort of your own kitchen, lessons are tailored to your individual needs and desires.
Cooking lessons are in-home lessons, we do not bring clients to our kitchen.
We do groups at various houses of worship and schools.
We offer everything from simple learn-how-to-hone your cooking skills to specialty lessons that include turning your kitchen gluten-free, vegan, or vegetarian. It also includes information on buying and preparing foods that are seasonal, as well as tips on kitchen safety, and cross-contamination issues.
1. One-on-One: The initial consultation fee for specialty lessons (design your own: gluten-free, vegan, cooking for crowds) is $50. This establishes what the need is, how the lesson(s) will be planned including menu food or shop with the student though food cost is not included in the fee and is the responsibility of the student. Per hour instruction: $60.
2. Group: Maximum 6 persons. _ $30 per person, per hour. Average lesson for a group is 3 to 4 hours. Menu is decided prior to lesson. The chef can bring the food, help prepare a shopping list, or shop with the group though food cost is not included in the fee and is the responsibility of the group.
